RIM Will Pay Royalties to Nokia After Losing Patent Dispute with Nokia WIFI

Nokia has just won a legal dispute in relation to patent the use of Wi-Fi on the phone with RIM Blackberry. This is certainly bad news on the RIM and RIM aggravate conditions that are experiencing the dark current.
Patents, Nokia, RIM, rim vs nokia, wifi, WLAN

According to Reuters, a court in Sweden said that RIM violated the contract and is not entitled to
manufacture or sell products to the WLAN without the consent payment of royalties to Nokia. And Nokia is bringing it's also in other countries such as America, Canada and England.

Actually, RIM and Nokia have had a license agreement for this since 2003, but no change in 2008. Then RIM seek legal deal in March 2011 asking for the license also includes WLAN patents.

Nokia, is in addition to relying on telecommunications products, along with Ericsson and Qualcomm Inc. is the owner of many essential patents in wireless technologies that bring in revenue to 646 million USD for Nokia.

It seems Nokia is looking for the "income" of additional patents they have and it seems like RIM did not have much choice but to pay patent royalties to Nokia if they want to sell their products remains smooth.
