In an interview in Japan, Schmidt said that his company is not currently set up to map application for iOS 6. "We thought it would be better if they still have got us (Google Maps)," said Schmidt.
He said he also claimed to have no authority to force Apple to re-use the Google Maps application. He also revealed that the decision was entirely in the hands of Apple.
However, despite having to remove Google Maps from iOS 6, Schmidt is hoping to continue to work with Apple. He also said that Apple still retains Google as default search engine on iOS. However, once again, it is still a question mark.

Awesome blog post. In Apple Maps, traffic directions are more worse than in Google Maps. As for Map issue in Apple iOS 6, i can surely say a stand alone app will soon come to Apple store with regard to replace the buggy Apple Maps app with new version.
