Apple App Store Now Can Use Rupiah

Apple's continued ambition to expand the reach of the App Store. Now the Cupertino-based company is adding support for eight currencies of other countries, including Indonesia.

Reporting from TechCrunch, on Friday (25/10/2012), other currencies can now be used in iTunes is of

Russian ruble, Turkish lira from, rupee from India, from the Indonesian rupiah, new shekel of Israel, Saudi Arabia riyal, rand of South Africa and the United Arab Emirates dirham from.

The addition of support for the currency came after notice to the developers that iTunes Connect portal will be temporarily closed on October 25. This portal serves for developers to control the price and availability of applications.

Before the advent of this new support, Apple device users should not be able to purchase applications using their country's currency. They have to pay in the currency of USD to be able to buy apps in the App Store.

Step Apple offers to pay in local currency would help in some ways. Some of them are to help encourage the use of paid applications and could encourage the creation of applications that are more localized.
